I count myself extremely fortunate to have been treated for a hip replacement by Mr Latimer. He is a talented surgeon who showed me nothing but compassion & kindness. With a genuine concern for his patients, he is easy to talk to & with a real sense of humour, he puts you quickly at ease & instils confidence. He is an absolute credit to his calling. Keep up your brilliant work. I cannot thank you enough.

I cannot thank Mr Latimer enough. My knee surgery has given me my life back. He explained everything to me in a professional and polite manner and was easily approachable.
I had questions to ask and he took time to explain to allow me to understand.
I cannot recommend this gentleman enough and would urge anyone in need of care to contact him.

I spoke personally over the phone with Mr Latimer after struggling to get any clarity from other consultants regarding a knee issue my daughter was having.
Through my description of what had been going on he decided that we should be given an urgent appointment. He called back promptly saying he was happy to see our daughter personally if we wished, but had managed to arrange for us to see another Pediatric consultant that he recommended in a childrens hospital closer to our home.
Mr Latimer clearly cares immensely about helping people. He did not have any obligation to help us but went out of his way to do so. His communication was excellent and informative. Without his help we would be still clueless as to what our issue was and be waiting for months longer that we should have been.
I cannot thank him enough.

Mr Latimer is a brilliant doctor , gave us his professional advice and the best way forward.His approach was very friendly and caring. He is very down to easy and easy to communicate with. We are based in London and are willing to travel to Cambridge to have my daughter seen by Dr Latimer. I would highly recommend getting his opinion I really wish I would met him first time she had her injury.

Mark Latimer currently holds the iWantGreatCare Clinical Excellence Award
Mark Latimer was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals in February 2009. He was appointed to an Honorary Consultant post in Addenbrookes in 2010. He has a specialist interest in children’s orthopaedics, adult lower limb surgery and trauma surgery. He is the Chairman of the East of England Children's Surgical and Anaesthetic Forum.
Before studying medicine he graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Engineering Economics and Management. He performed Engineering research for both ICI and Monsanto as an intern before going on to complete a fourth year Masters in Engineering at Oxford.
He subsequently studied Pre-Clinical Medicine at Oxford University and Clinical Medicine at Cambridge University. He was awarded the degree of MBBChir in December 1997.
He joined the East Anglian Orthopaedic Rotation in 2002. This included 2 years of dedicated lower limb surgery in Cambridge.
He passed his FRCS (Tr & Orth) exams in 2007 and was selected for the prestigious Ingham Fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery in Sydney. He spent a little over a year in Sydney. The fellowship included a comprehensive training in all aspects of children’s orthopaedic and trauma surgery as well as an opportunity to work in the Kerry Packer Research Institute with Professor David Little. He has published academic papers in numerous fields including cardiology, anaesthesia, plastic surgery, neurosurgery and of course orthopaedics!
